Welcome to Natalie Stutely Fine Art. I take inspiration from the world around me. I am fascinated by the play of light and shadow that creates the spectrum of colour we see all around us. In my work I try to build up the depth and fluidity of the subject, whether in the power and magnificence of a horse or the lightness and delicacy of a blossom.

I am always drawn to the beauty and drama of movement and enjoy translating this in my paintings. Energy and motivation also comes from life’s encounters with people or experiences, even a piece of music will trigger a creative thought process.

As early as I can remember I’ve had an enduring connection with horses. To me they are captivating. I find their nature is spirited and mysterious. They project a sense of unequivocal strength and purity which I admire greatly.

It wasn’t until my mid 20s that I really wanted to focus on equestrian art, after hearing about an event called “The Horse in Art”. I was determined to get involved. The summer of 2013 Obsidian Art organised The Horse in Art exhibition and took the show to the “the Horse Trust” at Speen to raise awareness of this honourable charity.

The combination of my other interests in Renaissance and Pre-Raphaelite style influences my equestrian paintings and drawings.

As well as horses, I also enjoy painting wildlife, including birds, aviation and portraits. My work is available for purchase from the galleries where I exhibit. I am also available for private commissions.
